Arbie Thalacker
Arbie was asked to serve on the Sakyong's Council to ensure continuity in legal and financial expertise between the new governing body and the previous board of directors. He joined the boards of Shambhala International, Naropa University and the Shambhala Trust in 1995. He serves on the board of the New York Shambhala Center. He is Of Counsel to Shearman & Sterling LLP, a global law firm of more than 1,100 lawyers where he was a partner for 32 years specializing in international securities law. He is a trustee and co-chair of the Preservation Committee of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, a director and Treasurer of Meredith Monk's The House Foundation ,a director of the Wine and Food Society and a director of Detrex Corporation, a public company. His refuge name is Complete Gathering of Merit.
