Make a Mala!

August 23 / 1:00 PM - August 23 / 4:00 PM

Everyone can make a mala!  A mala is a string of beads used as a traditional Buddhist tool to aid prayer and meditation.  Malas are used in the practice of mantras, both to help focus the mind and to keep track of the number of repetitions.  Donna Witters Bank will be our teacher.

Please register online.  Payment will reserve your place.  Families are welcomed!

You can purchase your materials at the event or bring them with you.  Cost of materials will be determined by the items you choose.

Students who wish to bring their own materials will need the following, otherwise all materials can be purchased from the instructor on-site the day of workshop:

A minimum of 108 stone, wood, glass or other beads (8-10mm size recommended, extra beads are a good idea to have on hand)
1 accent bead in slightly larger (size 10-14mm)
Waxed cotton or other strong stringing thread (non-elastic)
Beading needle (optional)
Embroidery thread/floss in coordinating or contrasting color to beads
