The Art of

Japanese Flower Arranging

Sunday, June 8, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Halifax Shambhala Center

Through Ikebana we develop a closeness and communication between nature and ourselves. The use of “empty” space creates a sense of harmony among the materials. This workshop is offered by the three senior artists of the Kalapa Ikebana society of Halifax. They are certified teachers of the Sogetsu school and senior students of Watanabe Sensei of Montreal.  This workshop is for both beginning and more advanced students of Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging.  Containers and kenzans will be provided. Students will receive group and individual instruction.  Maximum of 12 students. Cost: $50.00. To reserve a space contact: Wendy Karr 429-9962 wendykarr@gamil.com  Please bring clippers and kenzans if you have them.  Clippers and kenzans are available at the Ikebana Shop at Quinpool and Oxford in Halifax or Lee Valley.  If you wish to take your arrangements home, bring your own vases and kenzans or bag.  No experience necessary.
