The Inseparable Union of Feminine & Masculine Principles: The Essential Dynamic of Enlightenment
with Agness Au
October 24 / 7:30 PM - October 26 / 5:00 PM
The Buddhist teachings on the feminine and masculine principles of space and energy illustrate the opposing yet complementary dynamic, existing in all of reality. For both men and women alike, recognizing and balancing these principles offers an invaluable perspective by which to lead our lives.
In modern society however, the efficient organization and energetic potency of the masculine principle are far more evident, than the vast inner landscape and wisdom of the feminine principle. When these principles are out of balance, individuals experience a loss of equilibrium, families and societies become dysfunctional and the environment suffers damage and mistreatment.
Inseparable union manifests when luminous space and insight (the feminine principle) and dynamic energy and skillful means (the masculine principle) are experienced as an integrated whole. Through talks, meditation, contemplative and creative process exercises, both indoors and outdoors, we’ll identify and map the qualities of these principles in their basic, neurotic, and accomplished states. Additionally, this study provides a practical framework for understanding the complexities of the Shambhala Buddhist teachings.
