This programme marks the beginning of the Shambhala Buddhist path of weekend workshops and is for both new and experienced meditators from any culture or tradition. It focuses on the simple yet profound technique of mindfulness and awareness. Apart from meditation practice, the weekend includes talks, one-on-one and group meditation instruction and discussions.
- The programme fee is $160. Early bird registrations before 20 May: $145. Concessionary rate* and repeats: $80
- Breakfast is provided on Saturday and Sunday (please advise if you're not attending for breakfast) and the weekend ends with a celebration.

Aine Marron: became a student of Pema Chodron in 2001 during a year-long retreat at Gampo Abbey, Nova Scotia, and is also a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
The Blockhouse Bay Boat Club (see Google Maps): this beautiful venue opens onto the Manukau Harbour at the edge of Blockhouse Bay. Park in the Reserve car park at the foot of Endeavour Street, then walk 200m to the Boat Club (please equip yourself for weather.)
Lunch: You may bring your own or drive/walk to Blockhouse Bay cafes.
