Nyinthun - A Day of Practice

Our Nyinthun, a day-long retreat at the Center, is a great way to deepen and energize your meditation practice. Meditators of any tradition or experience level are invited. 


MAIN SHRINE ROOM:


9:00 am - 12:00 noon- Shamatha practice with Opening chants, including Heart Sutra.  


1:00 pm - 3:00 pm  - Shamatha practice 


3:30 pm - 4:30 pm – Shamatha practice


4:30 pm  - Closing Chants 


WERMA SHRINE ROOM:


 9:15 am – 10:30 am - Shambhala Sadhana (open to those who have taken the Enlightened Society Vow and received the lung for this practice)


10:30 am - Meditation Instruction offered (on request)


1:00 pm - 3:00 pm – Vajrayana practice (open to Vajrayana practitioners)


3:30 pm - 4:30 pm  - Refuge or Bodhisattva practice (open to those who have taken Vows)


    Refuge practice – Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct., Dec. (even numbered months)


    Bodhisattva practice – Jan., Mar., May, July, Sept., Nov. (odd numbered months)


TENNO ROOM (DIRECTOR'S OFFICE)


11:00 am - 12:00 noon - Ashe Society (open to graduates of Warrior Assembly or those who have otherwise received Stroke practice transmission)


COMMUNITY ROOM:


12:00 noon – 1:00 pm -  Lunch and conversation.  Please bring a sack lunch and drink.


3:00 pm – 3:30 pm – Tea and conversation.


Doors open at 8:30 am.  Practice begins promptly at 9:00 am. Functional silence will be observed during most of the retreat from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm.
