Rigden Weekend: Unconditional Confidence

with Daniel Hessey
September 26 / 6:30 PM - September 28 / 7:00 PM

Prerequisites: Shambhala Training Levels I-V and all of the "Everyday Life" courses (Meditation, Contentment, Joy, Fearlessness, and Wisdom)

Rigden: Unconditional Confidence is not just another weekend program. This program is led by an Acharya in the Shambhala tradition and introduces further principles of warriorship. This is also the point on the path when one takes the Shambhala Vow, which is offered at the conclusion of the weekend.

Taking the Shambhala Vow is a powerful moment in transforming the life of any individual. Upon receiving this warrior vow, you receive a Shambhala name and are considered a citizen of Shambhala. As a warrior, you commit to perpetually foster your basic goodness. In addition, you do not disparage other traditions, you never lose inspiration for humanity, and you engender love for all beings and loyalty to your fellow warriors who are making the same commitment. In this way, this weekend marks the beginning of a lifelong journey and is a gateway to the Kingdom of Shambhala.

It is certainly fine to attend the weekend and not take the vow. If you have a meditation instructor, this would be a good time to meet with them and discuss questions or feelings that may naturally arise.

With the great problems now facing human society, the Rigden weekend emphasizes connecting with one's innate goodness to manifest genuine confidence and bravery when engaging in the challenges in one's life and the world.

The Edmonton Shambhala Centre is committed to making its programs accessible to everyone. As a non-profit organization supported by program fees, donations and the energy of many volunteers we offer three pricing options.

$225.00 Regular Price: This is the regular cost of the program, and helps cover operating costs of the centre as well as specific program costs like paying teacher travel costs and providing food.

$300.00 Patron Price: For those who can offer more than the regular price, we have a patron price. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price. Tax receipts are offered for all amounts above the regular program price.

Generosity Policy: In order to make our programs accessible to everyone, we have a generosity policy. If the program price is an obstacle for you, please decide what works for you and offer whatever you can. We appreciate any monetary or volunteer contributions you may wish to offer.
