Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma: The Path of Individual Liberation
with Judy Lief
March 15 / 1:30 PM - June 14 / 3:00 PM
Silicon Valley Shambhala Center is delighted to offer a course on the newly released Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, a three volume set of the compiled Seminary teachings as taught by meditation master, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. This class uses an online video course taught by Judy Lief, a close student of Trungpa Rinpoche and editor of the Profound Treasury.
The class will cover the first volume of the set, "The Path of Liberation" in ten one-hour long video sessions given by Judy Lief, and two archival videos of Trungpa Rinpoche actually teaching the Hinayana path. This path covers the nature of suffering, impermanence, egolessness, karma, the five skandhas and much more.
There will be an emphasis on personal development, through meditative discipline and study. Trungpa Rinpoche felt that both practice and study were crucial for the propagation of the true dharma in the West. This class is highly recommended for all, both new students and old.
The class will last thirteen weeks, will cost $130, happening on Saturdays from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. This course will start Saturday, March 15th, 2014 and end on June 14. This is not a drop in class. You must sign up for the whole class, although arrangements can be made for making up missed session.
The program will be facilitated by Mark Hobbs and Denice Everham.
