Shambhala Art Salon: Tea Time (New Century Tea Gallery)

March 23 / 10:30 AM - March 23 / 12:30 PM

This art salon will focus on the simple act of drinking tea and holding conversation. It will give us the opportunity to arouse the mind, develop appreciation, and create some jolly good enlightened society. Participants from all levels of practice are welcome.

The tea we will drink has been hand-selected in China, often on the farm, by Chinese tea experts who grew up on tea farms as children. As we sip on the tea, we have the opportunity to briefly focus on it as an object of meditation, and then to let go of it as it disappears into our bellies. It is a compassionate and mood-lifting practice to do in the middle of the grey Seattle winter.

The gathering will take place at New Century Tea Gallery in the International District. It is located at 416 Maynard Ave. S.

Participation is limited to 9 people, so please sign up by registering online on this website; and if you register, please attend since space is limited. The cost is free, though a donation to the Seattle Shambhala center is suggested, as is a tip or a purchase at the tea gallery.

Prerequisites: None, all are welcome.

Location: New Century Tea Gallery, 416 Maynard Ave. S., Seattle
