Winter Meditation Retreat

Our Winter Meditation Retreat provides a precious opportunity for retreat, reflection and renewal during the Winter solstice and the New Year’s celebration. Join us for these days of mindfulness meditation, relaxation, silence and celebration. It’s a great way to start the year.

This one-week retreat is ideal for beginners, as well as those wishing to deepen their meditation practice. The programme will be based on sitting and walking meditation. The meditation technique we present here is Shamatha, or “peaceful abiding“. This practice develops the mind's inherent clarity, strength and stability, and cultivates mindfulness and awareness in our daily lives. We will also present body exercises - helping us to release tension, to loosen up and to settle down.

The daily schedule will include meditation and excercise sessions, talks, group discussions, personal interviews with Meditation Instructors. Short work periods allow all to help with the functionality of the retreat. 
There will also be some free time for reading, relaxing and strolling on the land in and around Dechen Chöling. On New Year’s Eve we will celebrate together and contemplate the Old and New Year.


This programme starts on Saturday December 27 at 20:00 and ends the next Saturday in the evening. You can choose to leave anytime next day, on Sunday January 4.


This retreat is taught in French. Translation into English or other languages are available at no extra costs. Please give us notice of your request as early as possible - about 2 months in advance - so that we can provide translation service. In case you register short-term please get in touch with us in case you need translation into your language.
