The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma

March 30 / 6:00 PM - March 30 / 7:30 PM

A study group is forming to take a close look at this newly edited compilation of the Ven. Chogyam Trungpa's thirteen Vajradhatu Seminary transcripts. They have been topically arranged by editor Acharya Emeritus Judy Lief and cover a vast outline of Buddhist Dharma. We plan to read and discuss this material, now available for the first time publicly, and published by Shambhala Publications, Boston.

REMINDER for Monday, July 21 - 6:00 p.m.
New students are welcome to join this study group.

We're leaping into Part Seven of The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, Volume II, The Bodhisattva Path of Wisdom and Compassion, a detailed summary of Mind Training and Slogan Practice (also known as Lojong.)

First, Trungpa Rinpoche sets out an historical overview of Lojong and describes how to work with slogans. Then he tells us how to deliberately develop compassion by cutting aggression. That is followed by nine chapters each with a major heading (Points 1 through 7,) under which all 59 slogans are explained. The final chapter of Part Seven details "Additional Mind-Training Instructions". (There's a concise outline of the slogans in Appendix 6, Vol. II, and on the wall of our Community Room near the ficus tree.)

Lojong take us through all of August.  It's a great place to start in or rejoin the study group and  makes great stand-alone material!
