Program Details

February 19 / 7:30 PM - June 18 / 9:00 PM

February 19 - June 18, 2014

We will be reading and discussing Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche's book The Shambhala Principle, Discovering Humanity's Hidden Treasure.  It is presented as a dialogue with his father, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the founder of Shambhala.  Yet this book is not a memoir, but an invitation for readers to reflect on their own basic goodness and the basic goodness of society, two foundational concepts underpinning the Shambhala teachings.

The book is written in four parts, each roughly 50 pages in length.  We will begin our study on February 19, individually reading one part each month and then gathering as a group to discuss those chapters and how the are speaking to us.  We will meet at the home of Arel Good at 315 E. 10 Street in downtown Indianapolis on the third Wednesday of the next four months, from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Wed, March 19, to discuss part 1,

Wed, April 16, to discuss part 2,

Wed, May 21, to discuss part 3,

Wed, June 18, to discuss part 4.
