YEAR of the WOOD HORSE


 


SHAMBHALA DAY marks the beginning of the New Year and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. It is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through practicing, feasting and celebrating together.


 


In addition, we are delighted to have Acharya Moh Hardin and Sangyum Cynde Grieve joining us in the festivities.


 


Please wear your uplifted attire, bring a favorite food to share, and don't forget your checkbook for the center of the Mandala fundraiser!


 


8:00  - Tea, Coffee, and Morning Treats


8:30  - Outdoor Lhasang


         - Traditional Gin Toast to the Great Eastern Sun


         - Cremonial first Kyudo shot


9:00  - Shambhala Sadhana


10:00 - Mimosas, Toasts & Pot-Luck Brunch


Following brunch we will have -


        - Mandala Fundraiser


         - New Director Oath


         - New Member Oath


         - Children's Activity


         - Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will address the worldwide Shambhala Community


 


We will end with a special reading of the I Ching for the New Year.
