Way of Shambhala: Wisdom in Everyday Life

with Jeffrey Stevens & Denise Wuensch
March 18 / 7:00 PM - April 22 / 9:00 PM

No longer deterred or depressed by obstacles, we can include everything as part of the path. The challenges of daily life become opportunities for both contemplative practice and meditation in action.

PREREQUISITE: Way of Shambhala - Fearlessness in Everyday Life course.

Shambhala Training Levels I - V are recommended, but not required.

STAFFING: If you've completed Shambhala Training Level V and WISDOM in Everyday Life, we invite you to volunteer to help staff this program! In addition, it is also recommended [but not required] that you have taken the Shambhala "View of staffing/coordinating" training. In Denver, this was held May 25, 2013 with Janet Solyntjes, in April 2011 with Barbara Smith and in December 2011 with Michael Levy, but it has been offered at other Shambhala Centers, too. Until a coordinator is announced, please contact Laurie Lavine, Co-Director of Practice & Education (WOS Year 1), at lklavine@gmail.com, or sign up via SMCD's Volunteer webpage here (link to be added soon).

About Shastri Jeffrey Stevens:
A longtime student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Jeffrey began studying and practicing the Shambhala Buddhist path in 1992. He has an academic background in philosophy, anthropology, and Indo-Tibetan Buddhism. His occasionally humorous teaching style emphasizes a precise understanding of the mechanics of meditation, and he encourages students to articulate what they have learned with each new step in their education. In his professional life, he is a founding partner of August Wealth Group, a financial management company. He serves as Shastri, a senior teacher of the Shambhala tradition, at the Shambhala Meditation Center of Denver.
