Miksang Level II
with Miriam Hall
May 17 / 8:30 AM - May 18 / 4:00 PM
Fields of Perception
With relaxation and appreciation, the eye is allowed to fall through the world and celebrate an intimate visual communion. The assignments in this phase of the training explore the diverse possibilities of contemplative vision. Since there are endless fields of perception, the assignments take some form of contemplative vision. Possible explorations include: Plants and Weeds; Sentient Beings; Impressionism; Ordinary Personal World.
Inner Contemplative Teachings
In this phase of training we cultivate the sensibility of the contemplative mind by studying traditions, artists and works that inform the Miksang vision. For example, along with the work of Chogyam Trungpa, we consider Chinese and Japanese contemplative aesthetics, Monet and Impressionism, Basho and Haiku, the classic photographer Edward Weston. The prerequisite for this course is Miksang Level I.
