4 Weeks and a Day: Mindful Practices for Stress Reduction

The research based upon that course showed that mindfulness practices, if practiced daily, reduce stress and enhance perceived quality of life.
This class is for those who would like to start a mindfulness practice AND for those who have already begun and want weekly class structure to maintain your practice. Acivities explore mindfulness of body, feeling, thinking, and life through gentle yoga, body scan, sitting meditation and other activities.
Paricpants should be ready to commit to 30-45 minutes of practice per day, six days a week. Also you should be available to attend a full Saturday, a day of silence

Norma Harris, MA, PhD, MA has engaged in mindfulness practices for 18 years. She is presently the Head of Practice at the Atlanta Shambhala Center. Norma is a long time student of the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and other senior teachers in the Shambhala tradition. She has a Masters from Naropa University in Contemplative Psychotherapy and has studied with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Sake Santorelli. Norma is a three time cancer survivor.
