Community/Deepening Weekend

September 20 / 9:00 AM - September 21 / 5:00 PM

Community/Deepening Weekends are a time to come together to deepen our practice and our connections. These weekends are an opportunity for the entire community to practice shamatha meditation together for an extended period, as well as for smaller group practices that require authorization.

Typically childcare is offered on the Sunday mornings of these weekends (please check the Families and Children page to confirm for a particular weekend).

All of these activities are offered at no cost.

These weekends currently include the following practices:

Open to all:
Shamatha Meditation - Sundays, 10-11:30 AM (with meditation instruction available, refreshments, and discussion), and 2-5 PM.

Authorization required:
Shambhala Sadhana - Sundays at 12:30 PM.
Gesar (Authentic Presence) Sadhana - Sundays at 3 PM.
Vajrayana Practice - Saturdays and Sundays 9 AM - 5 PM.

Other groups that are interested in practicing together (for example, Way of Shambhala cohorts, groups who have all completed through certain levels) can work with Cynthia Bradshaw (Calendar Coordinator) to define their intention and schedule a time during the planned weekends. This could also be a time for monthly book discussion or other study groups to meet and for community gatherings and celebrations.

Planned weekends in 2014 include:

September 20 - 21 (note: Sept. 20 is Harvest of Peace)
November 1 - 2
December 27 - 28

Location: Seattle Shambhala Center, 3107 E Harrison St, Seattle.
