Sunday Morning Compassion
with Gisèle Laberge
February 2 / 9:30 AM - December 7 / 12:30 PM
Maitri bhavana : 9:30am -12h30pm
‘Maitri’ means kindness, and ‘bhavana’ is virtue or quality. This group practice is about developping unlimited kindness by opening our heart to the suffering of others and surrounding them with the loving kindness they need. Maitri bhavana includes the practice of sending and receiving known as Tonglen.
A MAITRI BHAVANA sheet is posted at the Center on which you may write your name and name(s) of those who are troubled, sick or dying. Their names may appear on the list as often as needed. If you cannot come to the Center to fill out the sheet, you may add names by contacting Maurice Pressé at firstname.lastname@example.org
We read excerpts from When Things fall apart, a book by Pema Chödrön, followed by a discussion. The texts are provided.
The morning starts at 8h30am for those who want to have breakfast in good company with our host Jacques Robitaille ( email@example.com). People bring their own food . Coffee, tea, herbal tea are served.
ALL ARE WARMLY INVITED TO PARTICPATE IN THIS PRACTICE. YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING YOUR FRIENDS.
