Parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sadhana of Mahamudra Feast

6:00pm Friday, April 4th, 2014. Brunswick Shambhala Center, 19 Mason St. Brunswick, ME

You are cordially invited to attend the annual celebration of the life and work of Chögyam Trungpa, the founder of Shambhala meditation centers, master practitioner of meditation, translator, author, poet, artist, and above all, teacher. April 4th is the 27th anniversary of the parinirvana (death of an enlightened one) of Trungpa Rinpoche.

This is the annual opportunity for every level of meditation practitioner to gather together and share in a feast celebrating our gratitude for the path of meditation and warriorship. The 'feast' practice is a rare and powerful practice where offerings of food, drink, poetry and music are included in a container of meditation. This annual gathering is the only opportunity where all practitioners gather and practice the Sadhana of Mahamudra, Trungpa Rinpoche's earliest offering of his wisdom to the West, and the accompanying Feast Offering, written by H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche at the request of the Sakyong, Mipham Rinpoche

Offerings of food and drink by all are traditional and especially generous. Food that is 'bite-sized' and which can be piled high on a platter without getting too tangled up with other offerings is also a tradition: meats and sweets, crackers and cheeses, juices and wines, bubbly and still. Offerings of Trungpa Rinpoche's poetry, pith and direct teachings, your own songs of enlightenment and warrior inspiration are all also very much encouraged.

RSVP email Angela Lutzenberger with your food or poem/dance/song offering so she can plan accordingly for this victorious feast.
