Parinirvana of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche: Art and Awareness
with Stéphane Bédard
April 4 / 7:00 PM - April 4 / 9:00 PM
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the founder of our Shambhala lineage, the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa, father of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
Long-time students and new practitioners alike will honor this beloved and respected teacher who brought Tibetan Buddhism to the West with such extraordinary skill and generosity.
When Stéphane Bédard met Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1978, his life was transformed. For more than 30 years he has taught the Way of of Shambhala and was asked by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche to translate some of their major works into french. Such work calls for a nuanced and intimate understanding of the authors and their teachings, so who better than him to share his recollections of his root guru on the anniversary of his parinirvana? Named Master Instructor of Kalapa Ikebana last October, Stéphane will display several photos of recent Japanese floral arrangements and his presentation will focus on the arts, a practice near and dear to Rinpoche’s heart. His exposé will be entitled ‘Chögyam Trungpa : Art and Awareness’
