Mindful Knitting Meetup

with Peter Dobbin
March 24 / 6:00 PM - March 24 / 9:00 PM

While we’re knitting we can relax; we have nowhere to go and nothing to do. That’s why we knit. Not for sweaters and hats and blankets.

it’s nice when something actually gets finished, but it’s also a little troubling. What shall I make next? When do I start another project? Maybe that’s why it is not uncommon to have four or five projects going simultaneously; we never really want to finish, just knit, breathe and relax.

If you’d like to explore the potential of knitting in your life – as a meditative activity, as a means of relaxation, as a way to express yourself in color and texture while creating beautiful objects – please join our weekly Knitting Meetup.

What to expect
For beginners, a supportive environment to learn the basics of knitting. No need to buy yarn and needles during the learning process. We have a lending library of needles and lots of yarn samples to share.

For long-time knitters, a community of sharing and insight. What are you working on? What can others learn from you? What can you get from the experiences of others?

And best of all, knitting together is just plain fun!

Mindful Knitting metups take place on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6 to 9 PM.
Please see the Mindful Knitting calendar on for changes in the schedule (holidays, etc.)

Registration is Important
We need to know how many people will attend each Mindful Knitting meetup, so please register and let us know you're coming. Just visit and register as one of our members.  Then, you'll get email reminders before each meeting ,and  have the chance to interact with other knitters via  their web tools.

There is no cost to attend a Mindful Knitting meetup. We do, however, suggest a $5 donation to the Shambhala Center as a thanks for hosting this event.
