The Wealth of Shambhala Land Centers (Westside)
with Michael Gayner
December 8 / 1:00 PM - December 8 / 3:30 PM
FREE and open to the public.
Please join us for a community conversation with Michael Gayner, Executive Director of Shambhala Mountain Center.
Dr. Gayner is visiting Shambhala centers and groups around the country this year in the spirit of fostering open conversation and forging tighter bonds between city centers and the people living and working at Shambhala Mountain Center.
This will be an opportunity to hear Dr. Gayner discuss how the SMC staff are recovering from the devastating High Park Fire last summer, and how they are working together to manifest and share Enlightened Society through programs and culture on the land.
Dr. Gayner is also eager to hear questions and experiences of SMC.
We hope you can join us for this casual and informative gathering.
Michael Gayner was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and studied at the University of Toronto and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a reserve infantry officer and was, until joining the staff at SMC, joint director of a Canadian insurance company. From 1999 to 2000, he served on Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche’s staff, and in 2001 he was part of the team that organized the consecration of SMC’s Great Stupa of Dharmakaya. After serving in many positions at Shambhala Mountain Center, Dr. Gayner was appointed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as Executive Director in 2012.
