Creativity Lab: exploring creative processes that arise from meditative space.(Moved to LACMA)

April 12 / 11:00 AM - April 12 / 1:00 PM

Dear Friends,

We’re excited to be doing something a little different for the next Creativity Lab on Saturday, April 12th.

We’ll be meeting off site – at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, at 11:00 a.m.

LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

Anne Saitzyk will lead a practice of Looking and Seeing called “Contemplative Viewing”. She’s shared this for many years at her classes at Art Center College, as well as at Shambhala Arts Festivals and field trips. The process involves slowing down, opening the senses, becoming aware of what arises, and sharing our observations with each other. It’s a very enjoyable and enriching process, one that engages our direct experience of the environment we’re in before looking further into the history or theory of the work.

AND, GREAT NEWS!  There will be free general admission tickets available for the first ten people arriving at the museum.

Please bring a pencil and notebook, and if you’re a member of the museum, don’t forget your membership card.

Please meet at the chairs near Ray’s Restaurant in the BP Grand Entrance, Number 6 on the site map

Anne Anderson Saitzyk received her MFA in painting from Claremont Graduate University and her BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design. She has served as Co-Director of Contemplative Arts at Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles and Co-Coordinator of Westside Shambhala, a satellite of SMCLA. Anne met the Shambhala Buddhist dharma (and her future husband) through the Dharma Art program in 1997 and has since become a student of Sakyong Mipham and a Shambhala Art teacher and administrator. In her professional life, she teaches painting and drawing at Art Center College of Design and was recently a guest artist/faculty at Chung Ang University in Seoul, Korea.
