This introductory weekend intensive explores and deepens the basic technique of mindfulness meditation. By settling our minds we begin to see the magic of the world beyond our habitual filters. We experience the power and fulfillment of resting in the present.
In addition to meditation practice, each weekend includes talks by one or more of our senior instructors, one-on-one and group meditation instruction and discussions, and opportunities to socialize and make new friends with fellow participants.
You can register for just the Friday night public talk for only $25 for an introduction to Shambhala Training.
Acharya Eric Spiegel is among a small number of Western teachers empowered by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as a senior teacher (Acharya) representing the Shambhala lineage. He has been teaching the Shambhala Dharma since the mid 1970s. Beginning with the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s and 90s, Eric has worked extensively with the ill and dying, helping them to realize their wisdom in the face of impermanence, and has had a decades-long career in finance. He lives in a very old house in rural New York State.
