Please join us for Children’s Day, Shambhala’s annual celebration of the Winter Solstice, including a yummy pot luck supper!
This year we’ll start later in the day at 4:00 so that we can truly appreciate the way this event brings light to the darkest time of the year. The shrine room will be transformed! The King and Queen of Shambhala will preside as we gather to delight the child in all of us. Our Color Guard will post the colors. Children will offer their gifts for other children less fortunate, and receive a gift for themselves. They will invoke the wisdom of the Queen and King with their deepest questions. Adults and children will do a challenging and delightful collaborative activity together, eat supper together, and enjoy folk dancing led by awesome and well-known dancer, Melanie Kareem. All in all, this is a heartwarming celebration! Bring a pot luck dish if you’d like to share, or just come and enjoy.
