Heart of Warriorship - Level III: Warrior in the World

with Kim Kelso
January 17 / 6:30 PM - January 19 / 2:00 PM

Prerequisite: Completion of the Heart of Warriorship – Level II.

The Shambhala Heart of Warriorship Levels consist of five weekend workshops that include the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship - a path of nonaggression born from the bravery and gentleness of meeting our world without bias or judgment. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life in our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action. Becoming a warrior in the Shambhala tradition means developing the courage to meet life’s challenges with openness and strength.

The Heart of Warriorship Levels provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuine confidence, humor, and personal dignity within the complexity of daily life. These workshops are recommended for new and experienced meditators, as well as for those looking to enrich their existing spiritual tradition.

Developing fearlessness by examining our habitual tendencies, we are willing to experience our life without relying on the cocoon. We begin to engage the world directly and extend the attitude of fearlessness to our activities.

The Heart of Warriorship weekends consist of instruction in meditation (the practice of sitting and walking meditation in a group setting), one-on-one interviews, discussion groups, and talks by the director. Continental breakfasts are provided on Saturday and Sunday. Please bring your own lunch both days.

The Tucson Shambhala Meditation group maintains a fragrance-free environment. We ask that you please avoid the use of scented products.

If you feel you can't afford the full cost of the program, some scholarships are available. Contact David Hagan at
