Shambhala Day

March 2 / 10:00 AM - March 2 / 2:30 PM

SHAMBHALA DAY marks the beginning of the New Year, and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year's celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycles.

Shambhala Day is a time for us to express wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting and conviviality.  Members and friends are invited to join us for our annual New Year's celebration!

This is also the time when members of the Shambhala community are encouraged to make a financial donation to Shambhala in order to help support the activities of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and our worldwide mandala.  Envelopes will be provided for your heart felt donations.

When registering for this event please note how many guests you will have and what dish you will bring for the pot luck lunch that begins at noon.
