Midsummer Day Celebration
June 21 / 3:00 PM - June 21 / 9:00 PM
Midsummer day is one of the "nyida" days from the Tibetan words nyima (sun) and dawa (moon). This is the time we observe the summer solstice by gathering in family-oriented celebration.
NOTE: We will not be gathering at the Philadelphia Center. We will be gathering at the address below: 391 Kirk Lane, Media, PA 19063 (Wagner's)
Pot-luck: bring your favorite dish to share (salads, entrées, desserts), a lawn chair or blanket and a friend. Dress is casual. Children's activities are being planned.
Lhasang at 4:30PM: a lhasang is a traditional smoke offering performed to purify the environment and bring down blessing. You are welcome to bring an object that is significant to you to put through the smoke offering. Traditionally that might be a text or a mall or a shrine object, but you are free to interpret it as you wish.
Beverages will be provided. Contact Matt Dirodio for questions or information: email@example.com
Parking: Parking on the property is limited to handicapped persons.
Parking is recommended on a nearby side street, Oak Crest. There is also parking available on the next closest side streets, Third Street and Highland, or at Glen Providence Park. Please don't park on the neighbor's front yards.
