Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche Parinirvana Day
April 4 / 7:00 PM - April 4 / 9:00 PM
Join us as we celebrate the amazing life and teachings of the Vidyadhara, the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche on the twenty-seventh anniversary of his passing into parinirvana.
On the anniversary of the parinirvana (death of an enlightened being) of the Vidyadhara, the entire Shambhala community is invited to practice the profound Sadhana of Mahamudra, the feast section of which is usually restricted to advanced students. This is the only circumstance under which all members of the community may be invited to participate in a true vajrayana feast practice. There will be a celebratory period during the feast section where devotional poems, songs, dances and other remembrances of the Buddha activity of the founder of Shambhala are offered.
The message and insight from this special evening of practice continues to be appropriate and powerful, and listening to practitioners, old and new, expressing their fresh and heartfelt connection to the Vidyadhara is a great delight. Please consider participating in this special event and adding your enriching presence to what may well be a formative experience for many newer practitioners.
We are asking for a $20 donation per person to cover costs. Aternately or additionally, please also consider volunteering your time to assist in setting up the shrineroom beforehand or cleaning up afterwards.
Further details to follow. Please contact Christine Wetzl at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
