Contentment in Everyday Life - Way of Shambhala Class

These are indeed challenging times we are living in. Everyday life can often bring up feelings of aggression, self-criticism, and helplessness. With this class, we are introducing an experience and understanding of contentment as the foundation for both the spiritual path and a sane life.  Topics to be covered include:





  • Gentleness and friendliness to oneself

  • Nowness

  • Suffering and the Four Noble Truths - meeting suffering with gentleness

  • Working with emotions and Buddhist psychology

  • Confidence of contentment



Paula is the Director of the St. Petersburg Florida Shambhala Center and has been a teacher and leader in the Shambhala community for many years.  Dapon Will Ryken is a senior member of the Dorje Kasung and has been a member of the Shambhala community since the 1970s.   Mr. Ryken is beloved throughout the larger Shambhala community for his wisdom, sense of humor and inspirational qualities.  He teaches extensively around the world and resides in the St. Petersburg area with his wife, Paula.  Donation for class: Sunday; $30; Mon.: $10; Tues.: $10; or $45 for entire series.
