Winter City Retreat (Weekthun)
with Linda Catling
December 26 / 9:00 AM - January 1 / 8:00 PM
The Shambhala Center will be holding a week-long winter meditation intensive again this year, December 26-January 1. This city retreat (known as a "weekthun") will be led by Shastri Linda Catling.
The weekthun is a powerful introduction and deepening of mindfulness/awareness meditation. The program is open to everyone. It will include sitting and walking meditation, talks, study, meditation instruction, and a short work period. Silence and functional talking will be observed throughout the retreat. Meals will be eaten in the shrineroom.
Participation in the entire week counts as one week of a dathun (month-long retreat at a land center), and fulfills a portion of group practice requirements for Enlightened Society Assembly.
Please come join us for as much as you can. If you do join us, please try to commit to at least a four hour block, either from 9 am-1 pm or from 2 pm to 6 pm. You are welcome ro join the community sitting at 6:00 pm and stay until we close at 8 pm. Please respect the container of the weekthun and practice silence when you come.
You will be required to bring your own lunch and dinner.
Cost of weekthun: $250
4 hour blocks: $20
No one will be turned away because of lack of funds.
