December 21 / 3:00 PM - December 21 / 8:00 PM
All are invited to Children’s Day, our winter solstice celebration.
We gather to mark the seasons changing and to celebrate the generations in our community with song and festivities. This year, we will collect donations for homeless families in DC. Toys, books, diapers, or personal supplies for kids of all ages and their parents are appreciated; or you may write a check to DC Coalition for the Homeless. We will also begin a new tradition of welcoming new children into our community, and new members of the Center’s Council will take their oaths of service.
3:00 – Gather to decorate the shrine, make crowns, and enjoy creative activities for all ages
4:00 – Procession into the shrine room, welcome by the king and queen, children’s offering, storytelling, and presentation of gifts
5:00 – Shambhala Council oaths
5:30 – Festive potluck
RSVPs to firstname.lastname@example.org with ages of any children attending, are appreciated but not necessary.
You are invited to sign up at www.perfectpotluck.com to bring a dish to share.
