Rayna has been a student of Shambhala since 1976, when she first met Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, and is now a student of Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche. She moved to Portland in 1984, and has been teaching since that time. Currently, she holds the title of Shastri, a position empowered by the Sakyong to guide the local teachers and curriculum. In her professional and personal life, she is an acupuncturist, and lives with her husband, dog, and two cats in Northeast Portland.
