Meditation In Everyday Life Course
Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This is the first class in the Everyday life Series. The series explores how to bring mindfulness and awareness, and the qualities that spring from them, into our daily lives. It is open to anyone. This class will include short talks followed by meditation, personal investigations, discussions and brief yoga or stretching. Recommended text: "Turning the Mind Into an Ally," by Sakyong Mipam Rinpoche.

Schedule:


8:30 a.m. Registration


9 a.m. Calm abiding meditation and basic goodness, personal investigations, discussion


10:30 a.m. Mindfulness and Awareness Guided Meditation, personal reflections, discussion


12:30 - 1:30 Lunch


1:30 p.m. Obstacles to calm abiding and their antidotes Guided meditation, investigations, discussion


Shamatha yoga


3 p.m. The Genuine Heart of Sadness Meditation, reflections, discussion


4:30 p.m. Review: How to bring calm abiding, mindfulness and awareness into our lives



Cost: $50 includes vegetarian lunch
