Building Enlightened Society: the Dorje Kasung and Protector Principle
with Aaron Snyder
October 24 / 7:00 PM - November 14 / 9:00 PM
A buddhist military: how is that compassionate?
Are we talking about actually building enlightened society? How is that going to work? What are the steps?
In our few decades exploration of good human society we have worked with our own minds, with communication and relationship, and with the institutions of Shambhala as models for gentle, fearless organization. This four-week class explores the view, practice and activity of the Dorje Kasung, protectors of Shambhala, one of those institutions.
- Talk 1 (Thursday, October 24, 2013): Enlightened Society and the weapons of a gentle military.
- Talk 2 (Thursday, October 31st): What we mean by protection.
- Talk 3 (Thursday, November 7th): The methods of the Dorje Kasung.
- Talk 4 (Thursday, November 14th): True Command is the Great Eastern Sun: hierarchy and enlightened society.
