1st Sunday Community Gathering

Join us for a  the FIRST SUNDAY of every month for ...


 


Schedule for the Day:   


The schedule for Bodhi School and Parenting as Path has been established for the coming year. Please join us on the first Sunday of each month from September to May.

As in previous years, there are 2 groups for the children:


Garudas, grades 1-5
Dragons, grades 6-12

And at the same time as Bodhi School, there will be a discussion group, known as Parenting As Path, and a Dharma talk in the Shrine Room.



The schedule each Sunday is as follows:

 


9:30 a.m. - Registration for Bodhi School and for Parenting As Path

10:00 a.m. - Assembly in the Shrine Room -- songs, stories, etc. with all of the age groups together.

10:30 a.m. to 12 noon - Bodhi School for grades 1 and up

10:30 a.m. - Parenting As Path discussion group

10:30 a.m. - Sitting practice and a Dharma talk

12 noon - Community Lunch

 


Childcare will be available for younger children from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

The theme for the year is The Paramitas, and the schedule is as follows:

November 2, 2014 -- Discipline

December 7, 2014 -- Patience

January 4, 2015 -- Joyful Effort

April 5, 2015 -- Summary, review.

May 3, 2015 -- All are invited! -- Haiku Hike


** Other highlights for this year: A Shambhala Training MINI-LEVEL ONE for the Dragons (grades 6 - 12)
