Program Details

September 22 / 9:30 AM - September 22 / 1:30 PM

Harvest of Peace, held around the time of the autumn equinox, is an opportunity for local communities to gather, hear teachings by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and celebrate the riches of our local cultures and heritage. The Sakyong addresses the international community of Shambhala Centers around the world.

Our schedule for the morning has changed a bit:

9:30 am Coffee, tea and goodies at the Shambhala Center

**10 am to 10:30 am Sitting meditation (at 10:30 public sitting meditation will move to the small shrine room)

**10:30 am Listen to the Sakyong's recorded message to the sangha for Harvest of Peace.  (This may not be of interest to everyone, it is not so much a teaching talk as specific to the greater Shambhala sangha.  Those not interested may continue their sitting meditation in the small shrine room.)

After the talk, we will recite the Shambhala Sadhana, a chant/practice usually restricted, but for this day, the Sakyong has decided to continue the tradition started last year of making Shambhala Sadhana practice open to everyone on this special holiday!  Part of this practice will be a "feast" lunch of delicious fingerfoods.  (Public sitting meditation will continue to be available in the small shrine room)

The program will end around 1:30 or so.
