Wednesday Dharma Night September Speakers

A great introduction to the Shambhala Buddhist teachings, and an opportunity to connect with other meditation practitioners in a relaxed, comfortable environment. Featuring meditation practice, meditation instruction, a talk by one of our senior teachers and discussion. We also offer an assortment of delicious snacks and tea before each session.


The current series of dharma talks focuses on the concept of Warriorship, or human bravery, and the Shambhala path of bringing the sanity and peace we encounter on the meditation cushion out into our everyday lives.

With Alice Tarkeshi
This evening's discussion will be a product of the present moment. Alice Tarkeshi, a long time student of Shambhala and Ikebana sculpture will lead us in conversation with the space as inspired by the chapter "Now" in Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche's newest book, The Shambhala Principle. 


September 11, Open Awareness -- Embodied Presence
With Charity Martin 
The Essential Role of the Body in Meditation Practice ~or~ How to Stop Struggling and Start Trusting! 


This talk, with guided experiential exercises, will explore how the lived experience of the body  allows us to open to our natural sense of ease, grounding, and belonging which is so essential to living, to meditation, and to the discovery of our essential nature.


Charity Martin is a practitioner of Rosen Method Bodywork and Somatic Experiencing Trauma Resolution with a private practice in San Francisco. She has been a student of the Shambhala lineage for 25 years, is a meditation instructor and Shambhala Training Director. Charity has served as Bay Area secretary to Pema Chödrön for 20 years and regularly teaches Body and Meditation workshops in northern California.

A presentation and discussion of the chapter Shifting Global Values from Sakyong Mipham Rinposhe's latest book The Shambhala Principle


A second generation Shambhalian's experience with discovering Meditation and the Shambhala teachings. Richard Vogler is a long time meditator and student of the Shambhala teachings.

The Shambhala teachings proclaim that human nature is fundamentally good, strong, kind and wise; and that by creating the right conditions we can wake up to these unconditional qualities. How can we create Enlightened Society?
