Harvest of Peace
September 21 / 10:00 AM - September 21 / 1:00 PM
Harvest of Peace is a Shambhala community celebration held around the time of the autumn equinox and is an opportunity for local communities to gather, hear teachings by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and celebrate the riches of our local cultures and heritage. Here at BSMC we will celebrate our wealth of people (new member recognition ceremony, volunteer recognition), financial riches (brief local fundraising), wealth of teachings (viewing the Sakyong's address), and celebrate our community with a pot luck brunch/lunch. We will have a special guest, Acharya Susan Chapman, who is in town for a one-day program on Sunday.
The schedule for the celebration is:
- 10:00 am - sitting together, followed by new member recognition ceremony, volunteer recognition
- 11:00 am (approximately) - Viewing the Sakyong's address, distribution of donation cards
- 12:00 noon (approximately) to 1:00 pm - pot luck brunch/lunch
If you plan to come to the pot luck, please let us know and tell us what you can bring. Contact Cathy Lollar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
