Harvest of Peace

September 22 / 9:00 AM - September 22 / 2:00 PM

"...when we say, "harvest of peace," here, it is peace within ourselves- We feel like we belong, we feel like we actually want to participate in the community. That sense of peace in us is what is going to make a big difference. Not meditative stabilization and peace, we're not particularly talking about that. But a sense of harmony. If we feel a sense of harmony with ourselves and the community, it's going to naturally express itself. I feel that that is going to be one of the important binding factors."

~Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Harvest of Peace address 1999

Harvest of Peace, held at the time of the autumn equinox, is an opportunity for local communities to gather, practice together, hear teachings fron Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and celebrate the riches of our local cultures and heritage. This year, we will be gathering to practice together, listen to the Sakyong’s recorded address, get an update on the ABQ Center, enjoy each other’s company, and have lunch together at the cafe at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.

You are welcome to join us at 9am if you would like to partake in practicing The Shambhala Sadhana. Otherwise please come at 10am or afterwards as not to interrupt the practice.
