Embody Your Voice - Improvisations with Sound, Voice and Movement

with Jennifer Parde
November 3 / 3:00 PM - November 3 / 5:00 PM

In this workshop, Jennifer will lead us through a series of personal and interpersonal creative explorations relating to sound, voice and movement.  Using her own three-fold philosophy of "settle, synchronize and play", we will explore how to meditate, move, and make music from a place of embodiment, curiosity, and non-judgement.

Jennifer's guiding philosophy is that we are all naturally creative and musical beings.  We need only to open and invite the feedback of our bodies, our ears, and our musical partners, in order to find the next creative gesture (or sound) in each moment.  Keeping a relaxed and open mind helps with this process, which is why meditation and creative practice go so well together! :-)

No music, dance or movement background is required--only an open heart and inquisitive mind.  Wear comfortable clothes to move in.

Jennifer is a professional singer-songwriter, vocalist and pianist.  She has made a living teaching and performing music for the past 11 years, and teaches all ages and skill levels.  She also works part-time as a healer and astrologer and loves advising people on how to find balance, while fully accepting and expressing their unique creative gifts/vision.  She loves to dance, draw and/or write in her spare time (when she has it!).  Jennifer is a Shambhala Art teacher and co-coordinates the arts in the Baltimore sangha, along with Robin Williams.
