Harvest of Peace: A Celebration of Riches
October 6 / 9:45 AM - October 6 / 2:00 PM
Harvest of Peace is an annual worldwide Shambhala community celebration held at the time of the autumn equinox. Everyone is welcome. (This event was originally scheduled for 21 September, the actual equinox, but we'll be celebrataing it closer to Thnaksgiving this year.)
Related to the Sakyong Wangmo ("Lady Earth Protector") principle, this day is a time to gather and enjoy each others' company, hear addresses by global Shambhala leaders, and celebrate the riches of our lineage and local culture.
Schedule for the celebration:
10:00 Shambhala Sadhana — The entire community is invited to practise the Shambhala Sadhana, written by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Please be on time because it's not possible to entire the shrine room once the Sadhana has begun
10:00 Concurrent children's program — arts and crafts
11:45 Sakyong's address to the Shambhala community
12:00 Grand opening and celebration of the renovations and volunteers. There will also be a silent auction to support the renovations
12:15 Potluck lunch and social — bring your favourite fall dish and enjoy the company of community
Everyone is welcome!
