Shambhala Gathering: Social Justice Panel

with Mary Coonan & Martina Bouey & Vicente Sanabria
May 28 / 7:00 PM - May 28 / 8:30 PM

2nd, 3rd, 4th (and 5th) Wednesdays

Suggested Donation: $10

Over half of the world's population lives on less than $2.50 a day with inadequate food and shelter for basic survival. How do we think about the core principles of basic goodness and enlightened society in the midst of suffering? Can we work for social change in a way that includes all of humanity - those who physically or mentally suffer and those who do not? Can we hold this situation in our heart - free from aggression - and act for change? Join a panel of Shambhala community members working in social change professions to explore this topic.

This evening is designed for everyone who has an inspiration to deepen their personal practice and social contribution to the world.

You are invited to arrive anytime after 6:15. Bring your dinner, if you'd like. Enjoy a warm cup of tea, read and relax with others in the community room.

From 7:00 to 8:30pm, the evening includes guided group meditation instruction and meditation practice. Also, a teacher will present a talk, contemplation and discussion related to Shambhala principles and their application to our personal and social journeys. The evening ends with celebratory refreshments and social time.

Newcomers are invited to any Wednesday night Shambhala Gathering. Please also see our Welcome to Shambhala evening on the first Wednesday of every month for a rich introduction to the Shambhala Community.

We apologize, but our doors will close at 7:30pm.
