Way of Shambhala I: Joy in Everyday Life
with Joanne Henn & Barbara Hirschfeld
May 6 / 7:00 PM - June 3 / 9:00 PM
This five-week course is the third in the Way of Shambhala series. It introduces practical methods to develop ongoing kindness toward ourselves and others. By training in virtue and compassion, we cultivate a gentle and fearless heart. With discipline, we discover joy.
In Joy in Everyday Life, we explore the Mahayana Buddhist teachings, as well as the Shambhala dignity of Perky and its qualities of cheerfulness, health, and freedom from doubt.
This course offers a structured path of meditation and a complete introduction to the foundations of Shambhala Buddhism. Open to people of any spiritual tradition, this series provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, wisdom teachings, and physical practices rooted in the ancient traditions of Shambhala and Tibetan Buddhism, including meditation instruction, talks, periods of meditation practice, discussion, and a variety of contemplative practice activities. It follows Contentment in Everyday Life and is a companion course to Warrior in the World: Shambhala Training Level III, however, there are no prerequisites for this course.
