Introduction to Meditation

The introductory evening consists of a brief talk on the Shambhala path, as well as guided instruction on the practice of meditation, followed by a discussion and a period for questions.
The instruction is given every third Wednesday of the month by an instructor having many years of experience in the practice of meditation.
Please arrive 15 minutes earlier (6:45 pm) to register.
Note: On Wednesday March 19, the introductory evening will be lead by Shastri Benoît Côté.
Benoît Côté has been a student of Shambhala Buddhism for over thirty years. For many years, he was a member and part of the teaching and administrative staff of Centre Shambhala de Montréal. After resigning from his position as an University Teacher, he became a resident teacher at Karmê Chöling, the Shambhala retreat centre in Vermont. In 2009, he moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and in 2010, was appointed by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche as one the shastris, or senior teachers, assigned to the Halifax Centre. In 2013, he was appointed shastri for Montréal. He also works as editor for Shambhala Media.
During weekdays, the street-facing front door is locked as of 4:30 pm. You have to punch 203 on the keypad near the door and wait until you are answered. Once in, please make sure the door is closed behind you.
