Ziji Collective Presents:
Creating a Culture of Kindness: The Forms of Shambhala
Bowing, shrines, banners, flower arrangements....these are all familiar elements of any Shambhala center. Join us for a talk and discussion on how these forms and rituals help us to create a place where we can develop our minds and hearts.
David Fraioli is a representative of the Shambhala Office of Culture and Decorum. He has been studying and practicing in the Shambhala community since 1999. He moved to LA after living at Karme Choling, a rural Shambhala retreat center in Vermont. While a sangha member in New York City, he was one of the founders of QueerDharma, a meditation group for the LGBT community. He is a Meditation Instructor and Shambhala Training Assistant Director.
Ziji Collective: Rooted in the profound Shambhala Buddhist lineage, the Ziji Collective is a community dedicated to uplifting ourselves and society through the practice of mediation, the transformative power of collective action, and the creation of culture.
In Los Angeles, the Ziji Collective sponsors Monday night's Young Adult Sitting group at the Westside location as well as hosts talks, events, and retreats.
