Harvest of Peace
September 21 / 10:00 AM - September 21 / 1:45 PM
In the Shambhala tradition, we have been taught that it is healthy for us to acknowledge the change of seasons together, so that we are in touch with the natural rhythm of the earth.
The name "Harvest of Peace" relates to the traditional northern-hemisphere timing of the fall harvest, and also to the accommodating and celebrating energy of the Sakyong Wangmo principle (as in the Shambhala anthem - "the Sakyong Wangmo harvests peace...").
Everyone, please join us for Harvest of Peace at the Houston Shambhala Meditation Center, celebrating the autumnal equinox with an opportunity for the community to gather, hear a teaching by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, and celebrate the riches of our local culture and heritage.
The celebration will begin with meditation practice in the main shrine room and include a recording by the Sakyong. A potluck will follow.
Please consider wearing dignified clothing to celebrate the day.
