Harvest of Peace

Please join us for our annual Autumn Equinox gathering.
This celebration of Shambhala culture and community will begin with practicing the Shambhala Sadhana, and will include;

 ~the Sakyong's Harvest of Peace address (pre-recorded)
 ~Vow Ceremony for the new Practice & Education Pillar

 ~recognition of new members

 ~mimosas and catered brunch

 ~children's autumn inspired artwork on display

 ~and fundraising for the Austin Shambhala Center

On the evening of Sept 22, we will gather in people's homes to share food and conversation. The Sakyong will be suggesting some topics we might discuss in his address earlier in the day. The salons will be pot luck so bring some food and drink to share.

Please RSVP to your host so they can plan accurately and keep you informed
of any details. And please let your host know if you could help set-up or clean-up.

Our community has adopted the tradition of celebrating the changes of the

seasons. These are called Nyida days, from the Tibetan words nyima ('sun'),

and dawa ('moon'). Nyida days occur on or near the days of the equinoxes and

solstices. All four nyida days are regarded as family-oriented celebrations.

The Harvest of Peace is our time to enjoy the equinox together.
