July 20 / 9:00 AM - July 20 / 5:00 PM
On July 20, Adele Prager will lead a class to explore the Contemplative Arts and Creativity, beginning with a full introduction and preparation for beginners writing poems.
"There are a few tips and examples that are fun to explore, such as rhyme, rhythm, and sense, or nonsense. Let us begin with: There was an old woman who swallowed a fly. I don't know why / She swallowed a fly.
Many individuals have responded identically, when asked about writing a poem, generally, he or she says, 'What, me? Never.'
Let it be said that poetry is as natural as spoken language - with a little simplifying and a reduced number of words. Through human history, people have written poems, not for self-expression, but to express their humanity.
If you can speak at least one language, and have the intelligence for the practice of sitting meditation, you can do it! Please join us and show some of your warrior's fearlessness!"
Program Cost: $45 (Generosity Policy applies)
