Vaishakha Day - Enlightenment and Parinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni
with Travis May
June 13 / 6:00 PM - June 13 / 8:00 PM
Vaishakha Day is a major Buddhist holiday which commemorates three major events in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana.
We will begin with the Refuge Practice followed by stories of the life of the Buddha that relates to the Refuge Practice.
Practioners who have taken refuge are welcome to participate in the Refuge practice. People who have not taken refuge but would like to spend some time and celebrate with us are more than welcome to come by at around 7:00 pm. Tea and cookies will be served. We hope to get a group to go out to eat after we are done practicing!
There is no fee but love donations would be greatly appreciated for maintaining the space.
